ENTERTAINMENT ONE CONCLUDES DEAL WITH SÉRIE CLUB
FOR CRITICALLY-ACCLAIMED SERIES, CALL ME FITZ

Leading independent studio, Entertainment One (eOne) is proud to announce it closed a deal with French channel Série Club to license the cable satellite rights on the dark comedy series starring Jason Priestley, CALL ME FITZ.

Priestley (My Name is Earl, Beverly Hills 90210) stars as Richard “Fitz” Fitzpatrick, a morally bankrupt yet charismatic used-car salesman who is forced to become business partner with his inner "conscience" – a lanky do-gooder named Larry.

CALL ME FITZ tells the story of a handsome, substance-abusing scoundrel who torments his naive co-workers, stoops to shameful lows to get the best of the competition, sleeps with any woman who has a pulse and thinks his life is perfect, that is until Larry comes along.

The 13-part made-in-Canada half-hour comedy series debuted on HBO Canada in Fall 2010 to rave reviews and big numbers and was included in the Globe & Mail’s Top 10 end-of-year round up. U.S. premium satellite television service DIRECTV, which is provided to more than 19 million American households, premiered FITZ on April 21st 2011 on DIRECTV’s Audience Network. The series has been sold to 14 international broadcasters and will be seen in over 60 countries world-wide. CALL ME FITZ season one will be released in France on DVD in March 2012.

The series was originally developed by Amaze Film + Television and is produced by Amaze Film + Television, Big Motion Pictures and Entertainment One, with the financial participation of The Movie Network and Movie Central. Executive produced by Sheri Elwood and Brian McLeod, who is also the series Showrunner, the show is filmed in New Minas, Nova Scotia and boasts a strong ensemble cast including Ernie Grunwald (Weeds, Grey’s Anatomy) as Larry, Donovan Stinson (Reaper), Peter MacNeill (Rookie Blue), Kathleen Munroe (CSI: NY), Brooke Nevin (Breakout Kings), Husein Madhavji (Star!), Phyllis Ellis (Three Chords from the Truth), Joanna Cassidy (6 Feet Under), Rachel Blanchard (Flight of the Concords) and Jonathan Torrens (Trailer Park Boys).
