Presided over by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, the 51st edition of the Monte Carlo Television Festival will take place June 6 – 10, 2011.
The U.S. Drama and Comedy Television Series nominees, selected by the Producer’s Guild of America, and competing with series from countries around the world were announced today by David Tomatis, Chief Executive Officer of the Festival:
The winners in each category will be announced at the Festival’s prestigious Golden Nymph Award ceremony on June 10, 2011.
An international jury representing all creative aspects of television will select the winners. In each category, four Gold Nymphs will be awarded to the Best International Producer, Best European Producer, Best Actor and Best Actress.
“These drama and comedy series are of the highest quality and our competition this year will once again be very close. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Producer's Guild of America for their support and participation to our competition,” Tomatis commented.
“The Producers Guild is once again excited to contribute as a member of the pre-selection committee for this influential international festival,” said Vance Van Petten, Executive Director of the Producers Guild of America. “The six television series selected by the Guild represent the best of this past season and we look forward to the competition.”
Other highlights of this year’s event will be the international television program competition and awards, premiere screenings, the TV Xchanges conference program, prestigious receptions and social events organized by some of the major networks and studios which all contribute to the glamour and ambiance of Monaco.
This international television festival gathers the leading and most successful creative forces of the industry with the presence of more than 300 journalists from around the world offering a unique promotional platform.
