For Glee, Lea Michele got in a car accident. Indeed, she said that she wanted the part of Rachel Berry so much that she insisted on going to the audition even after the accident - and a quick stop to the restrooms. Which was a good idea since she got the part!
When Henry Cavill wants something, he seems determined to do anything to get it. Even if he has to harass the casting directors. One of the writers from The Witcher told Vulture that the actor was “really annoying”. But Henry Cavill really wanted to play Geralt de Riv, whatever the cost! In the end, he got to meet the team and the rest is history: the witcher Geralt de Riv is in fact Henry Cavill.
Being truthful, that is Natasha Lyonne’s way to get the part of Nicky Nichols in Orange Is the New Black. While the show is about female inmates living in the Litchfield penitentiary, the actress didn’t shy away from telling Jenji Kohan, the show’s creator, was an inmate once. She thought that sharing such an important thing with the characters would work in her favor. And she was right!
Making fun of herself didn’t scare Rhea Seehorn for a second. The actress known for the role of Kim Wexler in Better Call Saul gave a pretty weird interpretation of what she was asked for. She told Backstage: “I had one where I found the character funny in this very offbeat way. It was fun for me to spin the lines, it was like she had other rules in her head that nobody else knew, so she had her own set of jokes she found amusing. I did the jokes they wrote, but I spun them as a person who was quite odd, and they didn’t enjoy that. And they let me know they didn’t enjoy it.” Oops.
Everyone cannot pretend to be Khaleesi. And Emilia Clarke was determined to prove to Game of Thrones’ casting directors that she was ready to do anything to get the part of Daenerys Targaryen. And by “anything”, we mean : even make a dance resembling something between a chicken and a robot in front of a speechless crowd, as reported by Screenrant.
