Your Facebook questions

You ask the talents to come to the festival, but to you ever have guests who ask you to be invited spontaneously? From Philippe Pigeon

Thanks to the growing fame of the event, we have had over the past few years, the privilege of actors and actresses asking to be invited to the festival. These requests usually come from their colleagues who previously came to the festival and had a great time, and these actors or even producers usually ask to come back the year after. It is a real satisfaction for us.

How do you select the TV show talents? From Isadora Guriec

Usually we invite main leads but also actors and actresses whose popularity is very important in Europe and France.

How many people work on the event prior to its start, and how many during the Festival? From Philippe Pigeon

The event is organized by Monaco Medias, there are about 40 people working on it all year long, and during the festival we hire about a hundred more to make it as successful as you know it.

Have you ever considered having an edition dedicated to old 70's & 80's shows with their actors? Christophe Corroyez

It is complicated for us to organize an event solely dedicated to iconic 70's and 80's shows, although as you may have noticed, we always try to have them participate to the Festival one way or another. As we have done for the +55 yo, for next year's 60th anniversary, we will try to focus more on inviting the "golden stars" as we are deeply convinced that they still have a very important number of fans and will help make the event successful.

Your Instagram questions

Will there be more Netflix originals in Monaco in the upcoming editions? From aurelien_colombi0

We obviously want to have Netflix by our side. It is the most important digital service in the world today. And it brings more credit to the event. I believe that with the new competition format, we want to bring more and more Netflix productions.

How do you select shows? From celine_pauly

We have built a strong relationship with american and european studios, based on trust and collaboration. Each year they take the opportunity to premiere their shows at the Television Festival for both fans and the European press.

What change after 2011? I noticed the communication and the configuration of the Festival evolved that year. From sabtrakers

After 2011, I first of all wanted to open the festival to fans. Actually, there are now about 20 events dedicated to the fans, so they can meet with their favorite actors in the best conditions. We became a 2.0 festival and we're now very present on social media, because we are convinced, they are the best way to communicate nowadays.

Your Twitter questions

Hello, I believe it was said in an interview that one day would be added to the Festival (like it was the case for the 55th with 6 days instead of 5). Why not do it for the 60th anniversary too? Thank you :) From Fabien Ventimiglia @Fabiien_

We did add one day to the 55th edition but we eventually decided it didn't bring any value to the Festival. This 5 day format is ideal so we're keeping it for now.
