The funniest episodes of Friends

22/09/2020

More than 25 years after its debut, Friends has remained iconic for generations. Its episodes are played and replayed, and the laughs never stop. Here's the proof with the show's 6 funniest episodes.

Season 4, Episode 12: The One with the Embryos
Friends s04e12

When you think of Friends, you inevitably think of that one episode where Chandler and Joey manage to win Monica and Rachel's apartment after a trivia game invented by Ross. By now fans know the answers by heart, and the episode has remained a cult classic year after year. You never stop laughing at the arrival of the boys on the dog statue, the "Chanandler Bong" joke or even the profession that is totally made up by Rachel for the fateful question. Not to mention a little emotional moment at the end, when Phoebe announces that she is pregnant with triplets.

Season 6, Episode 17: The One with Unagi
Friends s06e17

No, it's not an eel... Well, it is. But not there. For Ross, it is a technique of self-control, which allows you to anticipate any danger. He thinks he has it and wants to teach Rachel and Phoebe about it. Obviously, things turn against him, and his two friends easily gain the upper hand when they come to hide in his apartment. Ross even sounds crazy when he asks their self-defense teacher how to assault them. A hilarious scene that happily mocks the character played by David Schwimmer.

Season 3, Episode 2: The One Where No One's Ready
Friends s03e02

This episode of Friends is so special, because it takes place in real time and only in Monica and Rachel's apartment. Ross needs to make it to an important conference, and his friends need to get ready in 20 minutes to be on time for the event. But that would have been uncharacteristic of his friends... Joey and Chandler get into a battle over a chair, Phoebe stains her dress and Rachel never finds the right outfit to go with her boyfriend. A real exercise in style that has made fans laugh ever since.

Season 1, Episode 7: The One with the Blackout
Friends s01e07

While the first season isn't fan favorite material, this episode is one of the funniest of the series, thanks in part to Chandler and his pathological clumsiness. New York City suffers a power outage that plunges the entire city into darkness, and Matthew Perry finds himself stranded in a bank lobby with model Jill Goodacre. Between stares that get a little creepy, chewing gum and a cryptic phone call, this scene remains one of Chandler's best.

Season 10, Episode 2: The One Where Ross Is Fine
Friends s10e02

Season 10 opens with one of Friends' least loved couples: Rachel and Joey. Ross learns the news of their relationship at the end of the first episode, when he walks into the apartment as they are kissing. Whereas he promises them he is "very well," he obviously isn't. Nevertheless, he throws a party with his two friends and his girlfriend Charlie, and dinner turns into a sight as embarrassing as it is filled with drunkenness, as Ross goes on a string of margarita glasses.

Season 3, Episode 14: The One with Phoebe's Ex-Partner
Friends s03e14

"They don't know that we know they know we know...": one of the most iconic lines of Friends, for an episode where the relationship between Monica and Chandler is exposed. A fool's game sets in between the couple and Phoebe, Rachel and Joey, until the point of no return is reached, where Phoebe and Chandler are ready to kiss. One of the funniest moments of the series, and one of the most moving when he declares his love for Monica. Not to mention Ross, who learns everything from the apartment he just bought, in the very last seconds of the episode.
